The U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy and the National Working Positive Coalition are convening a gathering of local, national and international HIV and disability stakeholders for a discussion of best service delivery practices for and research findings on the needs and experiences of People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) related to employment.
The learning objectives of the Institute are:
-
Service providers, employers, policy makers and advocates will learn about current research and collaborative service models that could help inform employment and vocational program development and model practices.
-
Service providers, researchers, and PLWHA will learn about non-government and government initiatives addressing employment for PLWHA.
-
Researchers will learn about theories being tested and research methods being used by colleagues and get feedback on their work from workforce development and vocational rehabilitation professionals, HIV service providers and advocates, and government and non-government officials.
