May 7 Construction: Sixteen EEO and AA Specifications, Chicago, IL.
The OFCCP will outline the 16 steps of equal employment opportunity and affirmative action required of constrution contractors and subcontractors.
May 7 Prevailing Wage Seminar, Houston, TX.
The U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division (WHD) will host a free seminar in Houston, TX to provide outreach on the rules concerning prevailing wage requirements under the Davis-Bacon Act (DBA), McNamara-O’Hara Service Contract Act (SCA) and Executive Order 13495 “Nondisplacement of Qualified Workers.” To attend the seminar, please send an email to that includes the participant’s name, title, organization and email address, as well as the location of the seminar. There is no fee for attending; however, space is limited. Upon receipt of this information, a Labor Department representative will advise whether the request can be accommodated. May 7 Town Hall Meeting to assist nuclear weapons workers, Las Vegas, NV.
The Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation (DEEOIC) will participate in a town hall meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada, to provide current and former nuclear weapons workers with information about the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA). The meeting is being hosted by the Joint Outreach Task Group (JOTG) of which DEEOIC is a member. Other representatives from the group will be present to answer questions, including the U.S. Department of Energy and its Former Worker Medical Screening Program, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and the Ombudsman to NIOSH for the EEOICPA, and DOL's Office of the Ombudsman for the EEOICPA.
