The U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) Seattle District Office will host a one-day compliance assistance seminar in Kent, Washington on June 19th. The compliance event is designed to provide practical information, helpful tips and clarification regarding the newly implemented regulations for Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) (38 U.S.C §4212) and Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act. The seminar will be followed by a veterans Job Fair hosted by OFCCP, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Veterans Employment and Training Service (DOL VETS), and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment (VA VR&E). Both events are free, but interested parties are encouraged to register early because space is limited. Jun 19 Town Hall Meetings to assist nuclear weapons workers, Cromwell, CT.
Officials from the Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation (DEEOIC) will host two town hall meetings in Cromwell, Connecticut, to notify current and former nuclear weapons workers who worked at 33 covered facilities in southern New England about the benefits available to them under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA). A program overview presentation will begin at 9:30 a.m. and a presentation discussing the medical benefits available under EEOICPA will begin at 11:00 a.m. Staff from DEEOIC's Cleveland district office and New York resource center will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to assist individuals with the filing of new claims under the EEOICPA and provide claimants with status updates on their existing EEOICPA claims.
