Jul 29 Free Seminar: Emphasis on wage requirements for workers under Section 14(c) of the FLSA, St. Louis, MO.
The U.S. Department of Laborís Wage and Hour Division will offer a free seminar in St. Louis, MO on July 29, 2014 to assist employers and community rehabilitation programs (CRPs) in complying with Section 14(c) of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Guardians and family members of workers with disabilities are invited and encouraged to attend as well. There is no fee to attend this conference; however, space is limited. Registration starts at 8:30 AM and the seminar runs from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. If you wish to attend, please follow the registration prompt. Jul 29 OFCCP Training with the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind (MCB), Boston, MA.
This collaborative training session will review OFCCP regulations pertaining to individuals with disabilities and showcase the MCBís employment services. The session will also highlight how to ensure that individuals with disabilities receive equal employment opportunities in the workplace.
Jul 29 Federal Agency Training Week (FEDWEEK), Arlington Heights, IL.
OSHA will conduct a three-day training event for federal agency staff responsible for workplace safety and health issues. The training will provide information needed for keeping federal workers safe and healthy on the job. The OSHA Training Institute, in collaboration with OSHA's Office of Federal Agency Programs, will conduct a series of half-day seminars that cover heat stress, fall protection, health hazards outlined in OSHA's National Emphasis Programs, electrical hazards and other topics. OSHA developed this training event to ensure that federal workplaces have safety programs and standards consistent with those in the private sector.
