Contractors will receive a presentation on what they should expect from OFFCP during the course of a scheduled compliance evaluation and the elements of an Affirmative Action Program (AAP).

Aug 19 Maritime Advisory Committee for Occupational Safety and Health Meeting, Washington, DC.
OSHA will hold a meeting of the Maritime Advisory Committee for Occupational Safety and Health in Washington, D.C. The MACOSH agenda will include discussions on surface preparation and preservation in shipyards, shipboard refrigeration systems, pedestal crane safety on commercial fishing vessels, preventing chassis drivers from jostling in the cab in marine terminals, the accuracy of declared container weights, baggage handling in cruise terminal operations, review of the 2010 International Maritime Organization annex, "Guidance on Providing Safe Working Conditions for Securing of Containers on Deck," and log handling safety. MACOSH was established to advise the secretary of labor through the assistant secretary of labor for occupational safety and health on workplace safety and health issues in the maritime industries. MACOSH meetings are open to the public.
Aug 19 Technical Assistance Workshop for New Federal Contractors and Small Federal Contractors , Seattle, WA.
The U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs Seattle District Office will host a FREE Technical Assistance Workshop and Local Resource Fair for New Federal Contractors and Small Federal Contractors on August19, 2014. The event is designed to provide practical and useful information to develop an Affirmative Action Plan and learn about the new changes to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) and Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act. The workshop will be followed by a local resources fair in partnership with Washington Vocational Services. Both events are free to all federal contractors and community based organizations. Aug 19 Town Hall Meeting to assist nuclear weapons workers, Window Rock , AZ.
Staff from Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation's (DEEOIC) Denver district office will host a town hall meeting in Window Rock, Arizona, to provide the public with information about the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act and the medical benefits available under the program. The town hall meeting presentation will begin at 10:00 a.m. DEEOIC's Denver district office and Espanola resource center staff will be available from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to assist individuals with the filing of new claims under the EEOICPA and provide claimants with status updates on their existing claims.
