Aug 27 Improving Job Opportunities for Georgians with Disabilities, Warm Springs, GA.
The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) in partnership with the Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency, the Southeast ADA Center, and the Southeast TACE presents a conference for federal contractors. The conference will provide information and tools to increase employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities and to meet the national employment goal for hiring individuals with disabilities. This conference is for companies, federal contractors, government and community organizations interested in seeking, collaborating and providing services to increase employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Attendees will: Learn about the latest changes in the Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Discover where to find qualified applicants and where to obtain access to consultation and tools for accommodation. Network and meet national and local service providers and companies seeking to initiate and improve hiring of individuals with disabilities and learn best practices.
Aug 27 Town Hall Meetings to assist nuclear weapons workers, Spokane, WA.
Officials from the Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation (DEEOIC) will participate in two town hall meetings in Spokane, Washington, to notify current and former nuclear weapons workers about the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA). Survivors of qualified workers also may be entitled to benefits. Staff from DEEOIC's Seattle district office and Hanford resource center will be available at the town hall meetings to assist individuals with the filing of new claims under the EEOICPA and provide claimants with status updates on their existing EEOICPA claims. The town hall meetings will be held at the Spokane Falls Community College in the Student Union Building (#17). The town hall meetings will begin at 12:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m.
