Sep 17 Free Seminar: Understanding Special Minimum Wages under Section 14(c) of the FLSA, Providence, RI.
The U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division will offer a free seminar in Providence, Rhode Island to assist employers and community rehabilitation programs (CRPs) in complying with Section 14(c) of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Guardians and family members of workers with disabilities are invited and encouraged to attend as well. Registration starts at 9:30 AM and the seminar runs from 9:45 AM to 5:00 PM. There is no fee to attend this conference; however, space is limited. If you wish to attend, please follow the registration prompt. You will receive a confirmation email once registration is complete. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the Providence seminar, please contact Linda Estacio at Estacio.Linda@dol.gov.
Sep 17 OLMS-Compliance Seminar, Appleton, WI.
The OLMS Milwaukee District Office will conduct a compliance assistance seminar for all interested union officials. Training topics include Union Officer Elections, Financial Recordkeeping and Internal Controls, Labor Organization Annual Financial Reports (LM-2, LM-3, and LM-4), and Electronic Filing of LM reports using the OLMS Electronic Forms System (EFS).
Sep 17 Town Hall Meeting to assist nuclear weapons workers, Livermore, CA.
Staff from the Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation (DEEOIC) will participate in a town hall meeting in Livermore, California, to provide information about the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA). The meeting is being hosted by the Joint Outreach Task Group (JOTG) which is comprised of representatives from DEEOIC, DOL's Office of the Ombudsman for the EEOICPA, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), DOE's Former Worker Medical Screening Program, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), and the Ombudsman to NIOSH for the EEOICPA. Members of the JOTG will be present at the meeting to answer questions.

Sep 17 Affordable Care Act Compliance Assistance Webcast - Part I, Washington, DC.
If you are an employer who is trying to comply with the Affordable Care Act, or if you are a third party administrator or insurer with questions about the law and guidance, this is your chance to hear from the experts and to ask questions. In this two-part webcast, the Department of Labor will provide practical information and helpful tips on the Affordable Care Act. The Affordable Care Act provides for a number of changes for group health plans, including new notice requirements, market reforms, and new wellness program rules. Representatives from the Department of the Treasury and the Department of Health and Human Services will participate to discuss key tax provisions and coverage options under the Affordable Care Act.
