Focus on Hospitality Seminar |
| Description: |
The goal of this day-long seminar is to increase the level of Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) compliance in the hotel/motel industry, as part of the Wage and Hour Division’s Strategic Enforcement Approach to Compliance initiative. During the morning session, presenters from the Wage and Hour Division, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and Virginia Department of Health will provide valuable information about FLSA compliance, equal employment opportunity, and developing policy for and effectively managing the bed bug epidemic. In the afternoon session, speakers from the WH Division, EEOC and the Mexican Consulate will conduct bi-lingual presentations about workers rights and responsibilities, FLSA compliance guidance, and migration and consular issues. This event is open to employers, employees and stakeholders in the hotel/motel industry throughout the Hampton Roads, Virginia, area. |
