The U.S. Department of Labor’s Women’s Bureau, Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, Girls Inc., the YWCA of Greater Atlanta and Cool Girls Inc. are co-sponsoring a science, technology, engineering and math summit for middle and high school girls on May 21 in collaboration with the Georgia Institute of Technology, Emory University, Spelman College, Women in Technology and Georgia Power. The program will feature a panel discussion and multidisciplinary workshops to encourage more than 300 girls from the Atlanta metropolitan area to pursue STEM careers. Workshops led by women in STEM professions will cover geology, genetics, robotics, civil engineering, nuclear power and forensics. |
