| Event Name: |
Los Angeles Area Job Clubs & Career Ministries Roundtable Discussion |
| Description: |
Please join the U.S Department of Labor's Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships, City Of Los Angeles Workforce Investment Board, and Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce for a roundtable discussion on the important role of job clubs and career ministries in getting Americans back to work.
Job club programs based at religious institutions, community-based organizations, and One-Stop Career Centers offer an opportunity for unemployed individuals to come together and share professional networks, learn the latest job search techniques, connect with employers, and receive emotional support. The Department of Labor's Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships recently launched a new project to connect job club practitioners to each other, provide technical assistance to existing and aspiring job clubs, and facilitate partnerships among job clubs, the workforce investment system, and others.
Visit www.dol.gov/jobclubs for more information about the project.
Job club coordinators, workforce development officials, and nonprofit and community leaders are invited to attend this roundtable event to discuss job club models and partnership opportunities in the greater Los Angeles area.
