Mar 27 , 2015 OFCCP: Veterans & Persons with Disabilities Hiring Expo The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) Los Angeles District Office is pleased to invite federal contractors and job seekers to attend the first annual Veterans and Persons with Disabilities Hiring Expo, taking place on Friday, March 27th, 2015, on the beautiful campus of Los Angeles City College. This event is a joint collaboration between the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the California Department of Rehabilitation, the Hollywood Worksource Center, the Office of President Pro Tem Kevin de León, and the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs. There is no registration fee for employers or job seekers to participate. Employers will have an opportunity to network with expo attendees from diverse backgrounds, specifically veterans and individuals with disabilities. Additionally we will be offering brief training seminars prior to the expo on topics such as “Disability Etiquette,” “Working with Veterans with Disabilities,” and “503/VEVRAA Updates for Federal Contractors.” The seminars will take place between 8:30AM to 10:00AM and the hiring expo is scheduled for 10:00AM to 2:00PM. Apr 16 , 2015 Outreach and Positive Recruitment for Section 503/VEVRAA Please join the Houston District Office for an informative presentation on how to meet and improve your affirmative action efforts to meet the requirements under the regulations, 41 CFR § 300.44(f) and 41 CFR § 741.44(f). Federal contractors are required to undertake appropriate outreach and positive recruitment efforts that are reasonably designed to effectively recruit veterans and individuals with disabilities.
