EXCEL Conference - Examining Conflicts in Employment Laws EEOC's 18th Annual EXCEL Conference (Examining Conflict in Employment Law) is a three day training program designed exclusively for private sector and state and local employees covering a wide range of EEO topics. The training seminar which is being held in Washington, D.C. begins with presentations by Charlayne Hunter-Gault (award winning journalist and civil rights advocate) and EEOC’s Chair Jenny R. Yang. U.S. Secretary of Labor Thomas Perez will discuss the current state of civil rights in the U.S. OFCCP Director, Patricia Shiu will present an OFCCP update focusing on OFCCP’s LGBT enforcement, new guidance on sex discrimination and OFCCP’s and EEOC’s cooperative efforts. Secretary of Transportation, Anthony Foxx will discuss interconnected civil rights issues of the future. EEOC General Counsel David Lopez as well as Commissioner Chair Feldblum and Victoria Lipnic will also be presenting workshops. Representatives from EEOC, OFCCP, Wage and Hour Division, NLRB, Office of Special Counsel and private attorneys will address such issues as recent developments on pregnancy discrimination, sexual harassment, wage claims, social media, litigation, arrest and conviction policies and national origin and immigration issues.
