Jun 19 , 2013 Town Hall Meetings to assist nuclear weapons workers The Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation (DEEOIC) will host two town hall meetings in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to discuss the medical benefits provided under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA). Discussion will include specific information concerning home health care services, the Privacy Act, and how to better serve EEOICPA claimants. DEEOIC's traveling resource center staff will also be available before and after each town hall meeting to assist individuals intersted in filing a new claim under the EEOICPA. The town hall meetings will begin at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The traveling resource center hours will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Albuquerque NM OWCP

Jun 27, 2013		 Prevailing Wage Conference The Wage and Hour Division will host a conference to provide outreach on the rules concerning prevailing wage requirements under the Davis-Bacon Act (DBA). Conference registration is from 7-9 am on Day 1 and the last session for that day ends at 5:00pm. Day 2’s first session begins at 8:00am and the last session for that day ends at 5:00pm. To register for the conference, send an email to whdpwc@dol.gov that includes the participant’s name, title, organization and email address, as well as the location of the conference you wish to attend. There is no fee for attending; however, space is limited. Upon receipt of this information, a Labor Department representative will advise whether the request can be accommodated. Atlantic City NJ WHD
Jul 18 , 2013 OFCCP-" Empowerment Session" on Developing AAPs for New and Small Supply and Service Contractors and Outreach Best Practices for a Diverse/Inclusive Workforce The Baltimore District Office will host a seminar for new and small supply and service (nonconstruction) federal contractors about the components of written Affirmative Action Programs (AAPs), as required by Executive Order 11246, as amended, Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, and the Vietnam Era Veterans' Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974, as amended. The event will emphasize the importance of effective outreach and recruitment efforts by contractors. Jul 24 , 2013 DOL Information & Outreach Forum - Preparing Employers and Workers for Success The OFCCP Denver District Office will present several sessions on a variety of topics at the forum: 1) General Affirmative Action Program requirements, for new contractors and those not familiar with OFCCP; 2) Common problem areas for federal contractors, for contractors who may be reviewed and those who wish to learn more about OFCCP; 3) OFCCP joint session with the Secretary's Regional Representative (SRR) and the Women's Bureau (WB), where OFCCP will address non-discrimination in compensation practices and the other presenters will address equal pay; and, 4) Agency leaders opening panel and closing panel on success for employers and workers for community based organizations and other representatives.
