Oct 21 , 2014 Town Hall Meeting to assist nuclear weapons workers Representatives from the Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation (DEEOIC) will participate in a town hall meeting in Paducah, Kentucky, to notify current and former nuclear weapons workers about the benefits available to them under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA). Survivors of qualified workers also may be entitled to benefits. The town hall meeting is being hosted by the Joint Outreach Task Group, of which DEEOIC is a member. Staff from DEEOIC's Jacksonville district office and Paducah resource center will also be available during the town hall meeting to assist individuals with the filing of new claims under the EEOICPA and to provide claimants with status updates on their existing EEOICPA claims. Oct 22 , 2014 Stakeholder Meeting on Improving OSHAs Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory Program OSHA has scheduled an informal stakeholder meeting to gather information on how the agency can increase the effectiveness of its Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory Program. The meeting will focus on the use of the private sector to improve timeliness and efficiency of the NRTL recognition process, certification marks, factory and field inspections, and other topics if time permits. Oct 22 , 2014 Vendor Outreach Session To increase the U.S. Department of Labor's utilization of all types of small businesses, the Department's Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) sponsors Small Business Vendor Outreach Sessions (VOS). These sessions offer small businesses the opportunity to market their capabilities directly to OSDBU and agency program officials and learn about potential Department procurement opportunities. Conversely, Department procurement officials can learn more about the diverse small business resources available to meet their procurement needs. Department of Labor agencies buy a wide variety of goods and services valued at approximately $2.2 billion each year. Each DOL agency has a responsibility for procuring its own goods and services in support of the agency's mission. Washington DC OASAM

Nov 6 , 2014 What to expect during an OFCCP Audit Please join the OFCCP Houston District Office for a presentation designed to provide an overview of OFCCPs evaluation process. The compliance officers/presenters will explain the process from the receipt of the scheduling letter to what happens during the onsite. This venue allows federal contractors an advance opportunity to prepare and understand the desk audit and onsite portions of the evaluation process. Additional time will be reserved at the end of the event to answer specific questions regarding the information presented and/or related issues. Houston TX OFCCP
Nov 6 , 2014 Federal Advisory Council on Occupational Safety and Health Meeting OSHA scheduled a meeting of the Federal Advisory Council on Occupational Safety and Health (FACOSH). The council advises the Secretary of Labor on all matters relating to the occupational safety and health of federal employees. This includes providing advice on how to reduce the number of injuries and illnesses in the federal workforce and how to encourage each federal executive branch department and agency to establish and maintain effective occupational safety and health programs. The tentative agenda includes updates from FACOSH subcommittees and on recordkeeping rule changes affecting federal agencies, protecting workers from retaliation, and update future metrics on the Presidential POWER Initiative.
