Question: If my place of employment has closed as a result of the events of September 11th, would I still be covered by my employer’s health insurance plan?

Answer: Even if the employer's physical location has closed, as long as the employer exists, continues to sponsor a plan and employs you, you would generally remain covered under your existing health plan. Many plans require a contribution from the employee to help pay for health coverage. You may need to make arrangements to make this payment if you are not in pay status for some reason.
