MSHA Fire Suppression and Fire Protection Advisor

You have selected underground electrical equipment, other stationary or portable equipment NOT using hydraulic fluid (Unattended), and located in primary escapeway with miners inby.

The Advisor indicates that this is allowed.

The minimum requirements are:

1A. Automatic fire suppression system installed according to 75.1107-3 thru 75.1107-16
OR
1B. Located at least 2 feet from coal or other combustible materials
OR
1C. Separated from coal or other combustible materials by a 4-inch thick masonry firewall  75.1107-1(a)(3)

2A. Two 2A:10B:C portable fire extinguishers or one having at least twice the minimum capacity atpermanent installations75.1100-2(e)(1)
OR
2B. One 2A:10B:C portable fire extinguisher and 240 pounds of rock dust at temporary installations75.1100-2(e)(2)
