The rules for employment of youth under the FLSA differ when the youth is employed by parents, or persons standing in the place of parents. A youth would be regarded as employed by a parent if a parent is the sole owner of the business, or if the youth's parents are the only partners in a partnership or the only stockholders in a corporation.
