MSHA Fire Suppression and Fire Protection Advisor

You have selected undergound diesel equipment, mobile equipment, self-propelled fuel transportation units or lube units or machines used to transport portable fuel transportation units or portable lube units (each unit or machine is considered heavy duty) after 11/25/1999, and primary escapeway with miners inby.

The Advisor indicates that this is allowed.

The minimum requirements are:

1. Automatic fire suppression system (NRITL) meeting 75.1911. 75.1909(h)

2. For fuel transportation units, two 10A:60B:C portable fire extinguishers75.1906(h)
   OR
   For lube units, one 10A:60B:C portable fire extinguisher75.1909(a)(2)
   OR
   For machines used to transport fuel transportation units or lube unit, one 10A:60B:C portable fire extinguisher.75.1909(a)(2)
