Other Protected Veterans

Under the Vietnam Era Veterans' Readjustment Assistance Act, for contracts and subcontracts entered into with the Federal government before December 1, 2003, an "other protected veteran" means a person who served on active duty during a war or in a campaign or expedition for which a campaign badge has been authorized, under laws administered by the Department of Defense. See Vietnam Era Veterans' Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974 41 CFR 60-250.2(q).

For contracts and subcontracts entered into with the Federal government on or after December 1, 2003, an "other protected veteran" means a veteran who served on active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service during a war or in a campaign or expedition for which a campaign badge has been authorized, under the laws administered by the Department of Defense. See Vietnam Era Veterans' Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974 41 CFR 60-300.2(p).
