If you are not a Federal contractor or subcontractor, you don’t need to submit a VETS-4212 Report. You don’t need to notify anyone that you don’t need to file a VETS-4212 Report.
This doesn’t mean your organization can’t benefit from taking proactive steps to recruit and retain veterans, however. In fact, doing so offers many benefits.
Also, please note that you may not discriminate against an employee based on his or her status as a veteran. Under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA), employees are protected from discrimination based on their prior service in the uniformed services; current service in the uniformed services; or intent to join the uniformed services. USERRA also protects employees from retaliation based on their actions to enforce their rights or someone else’s rights under the law, participation in a USERRA proceeding, or assistance in a USERRA investigation.
Thank you for using the VETS-4212 Report Advisor.
