We want to help you find a job. The first step you need to take to get started is to call or e-mail your local Director for Veterans' Employment and Training (DVET). This DVET will arrange for assistance to help you, the transitioning service member or veteran, successfully transition to a rewarding career.

File for Unemployment Insurance Benefits — You may be eligible to collect unemployment benefits while you are searching for a job. This website provides information about filing for unemployment benefits in the state of Florida.

State Veteran Employment Services — This site provides information about employment services and programs that are specific to transitioning service members and veterans in the state of Florida.

Florida State Government Jobs — This site provides access to employment opportunities with the state of Florida.

National Resources

Veterans' Employment and Training Service (VETS) - This site provides information and resources on finding employment or starting your own business.

Department of Veterans Affairs, Careers and Employment - This site offers information for Veterans seeking employment, including the Veterans Job Bank, career tools such as the Military Skills Translator and many other employment resources and services.

Transition Assistance Service Programs — This site provides information on the TAP workshops service members separating from the military are required to attend. These employment workshops are held in-person or online so service members can fulfill their obligations, and are also open to veterans and military spouses.

VA Transition Assistance Service Programs — This site supports service members as they learn about the benefits and services available to help them and their families. In coordination with the U.S. Departments of Defense and Labor, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs provides comprehensive support through TAP to help in the transition to civilian life.

Military OneSource — This site offers information on the support services available from the military and other government programs specifically designed to help troops and their families, leaders, and service providers.

Employer Assistance and Resource Network on Disability Inclusion (EARN) — This site provides free resources from the Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy that helps employers understand the benefits of recruiting, hiring and advancing people with disabilities.

National Resource Directory (NRD) — This site provides access to services and resources at the national, state and local levels that support recovery, rehabilitation and community reintegration.

Returning Service Members (OEF/OIF/OND) — This site provides information on benefits and services available specifically to returning service members of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
