FLSA - Child Labor Rules
Because you are younger than 12 years old, you may only work in agriculture on a farm if, under the FLSA, the farm is not required to pay the minimum wage. Generally, this means the farm is small and does not use very many workers. You may need to have an adult check this for you.
If it is a small farm, you may only work during hours when school is not in session, and your parents must consent to your employment. Also, there are some dangerous jobs that you may not do. The Secretary of Labor has found that these jobs are too hazardous for anyone under 16 years of age to perform. These dangerous jobs are listed on the next page.
