Documentation/Certifications from Employees

An employer may require that an employee furnish certain documentation to verify information related to the taking of FMLA leave. The FMLA allows employers to request documents relating to:

• Medical Certification
  (including recertifications and fitness-for-duty certifications)
• Confirmation of Relationship
• Military Certification
  (including qualifying exigency leave certifications and military caregiver leave certifications)
