Your choice on the previous list implies that it is unlikely that your business has discriminated against an employee based on the individual’s past, present or future uniformed service. However, it is always a good management practice to discourage conduct that while seemingly harmless on the surface, may be the start of something that could develop into a serious situation. If you selected the choice involving calls to employee's Reserve or National Guard unit, this is an accepted and recommended practice, as long as the contacts are primarily for informational purposes and do not challenge the employee's integrity or the necessity for the uniformed service duty itself.

If you would like more information about uniformed service discrimination, continue in this section. Otherwise, return to the Main Menu for more information on USERRA.
