FLSA - Child Labor Rules
You have reviewed the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) child labor rules for youth who work for their parents in non-agricultural occupations. You should be able to tell whether the job the youth you are interested in is allowed for someone his or her age. If it is, wish the youth good luck, and encourage him or her to work safely.
It's great if the youth you are interested in already has a job and it fits within the rules for someone his or her age. But, if you are concerned that it is against the rules for them to perform some part of the work, you may want to continue with the FLSA Child Labor Advisor to review information on enforcement of the rules, and how to contact the Wage and Hour Division of the U.S. Department of Labor.
