FLSA - Child Labor Rules

You have reviewed the Federal child labor rules for employment in agriculture. You should be able to tell whether the job you have or were considering working at is allowed for someone your age. If it is, good luck, and remember to work safely.

It's great if you already have a job and it fits within the rules for someone your age. But if you are concerned that it is against the rules for you to perform some part of the work you are doing, you should have an adult (your parent, a teacher, or an older friend) review the rules. This Advisor has information on enforcement of the rules, and how to contact the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor.

For more information, there are pamphlets and other materials such as Farm Safety 4 Just Kids available online. Click on child labor publications to view additional information.
