FLSA - Child Labor Rules

You have reviewed the Federal child labor rules for employment in non-agricultural occupations. You should be able to tell whether the job you thought you would like is allowed for someone your age. If it is, good luck, and remember to work safely.

It's great if you already have a job and it fits within the rules for someone your age. But, if you are concerned that it is against the rules for you to perform some part of your job, you should have an adult (your parent, a teacher, or an older friend) review the rules. The The Fair Labor Standards Act Child Labor Advisor has information on enforcement of the rules, and how to contact the Wage and Hour Division  of the U.S. Department of Labor.
