You’re probably covered under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) since you work in one of the enterprises named in the law. However, some employees are exempt from various provisions of the law.

Remember that the FLSA applies to employees. If income taxes are deducted from your pay and you receive a W-2 tax statement from your employer at the end of the year, you’re probably an employee.
